Rare Mahogany Shelf Clock, circa 1810 Aaron Willard (1757-1844), Boston This superb example has the most beautifully painted maker’s name of any I have owned. Additionally, note the red painted dial mat which is original. This feature is occasionally found on the pendulum rods and weights of Willard tall case clocks. It remains in fine original condition throughout with the exception of the door glass which is an old replacement.
